The Criminal Enterprises Free Update Revealed

GTA Online developer Rockstar Games has announced a new major free content update, The Criminal Enterprises, is set to release for the online multiplayer video game on July 26th. The Criminal Enterprises, as the name implies, includes expansions for Criminal Careers as well as new Contact Missions and more. That includes the ability to go undercover as a sworn-in agent of IAA to investigate the drastic rises in gas prices in the video game. The free update had previously been teased by Rockstar Games, but this marks the official announcement.

A bunch of new options will be available to players that own various properties in GTA Online‘s The Criminal Enterprises. Folks that own an Executive Office, a Custom Bike Shop, or a Nightclub will find new kinds of missions to take on based around those locations. Additionally, The Criminal Enterprises includes permanent increases for Race and Adversary Mode payouts

Ubisoft to pull online from older games, which also takes away your DLC

Ubisoft has announced that, effective September 1, it will be decommissioning the online features (opens in new tab) of a selection of older games. I’ve compiled a list of the PC games affected, their release dates, and what features will be removed below:

  • Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD (2014): multiplayer, linking accounts, online features, access DLC
  • San Francisco Driver (2011): multiplayer, linking accounts, online features, access to DLC
  • Far Cry 3 (2012): multiplayer, linking accounts, online features, access to DLC
  • Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (2010): co-op multiplayer, linking accounts, online features, access to DLC

Red Dead Online won’t get ‘major’ updates as Rockstar shifts to the next mainline GTA game

Red Dead Online will no longer receive “major themed content updates” in part because Rockstar Games is pulling resources into the next Grand Theft Auto title, the studio said Thursday. Fans have marveled if Red Dead Online has been abandonedand while the game isn’t being shut down, Rockstar won’t be making as much content for it moving forward.

“Over the past few years, we have been steadily moving more development resources towards the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series — understanding more than ever the need to exceed players’ expectations and for this next entry to be the best it can possibly be — and as a result, we are in the process of making some changes to how we support Red Dead OnlineRockstar wrote in a blog post.

Ubisoft to Shut Down Multiplayer and Online Services for 15 Games in September 2022

Ubisoft is set to shut down multiplayer and online services for 15 games on September 1, 2022, including five Assassin’s Creed games, Far Cry 3, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, and more.

For games like Assassin’s Creed 3 (2012 Release) and Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, the installation of access to DLC will also be unavailable on that date.

“Closing the online services for some older games allows us to focus our resources on delivering great experiences for players who are playing newer or more popular titles,” Ubisoft wrote on its support page.

The full list of games and what services will be stopped is as follows
